Mr. Wallace Bernard McGinnis, Jr.

March 10, 1969 - March 19, 2022

Wallace Bernard McGinnis, Jr. (a.k.a. Lil Butch, Butch, Butchie and Sweet Daddy) was born March 10, 1969 in Baltimore, MD. He was the devoted oldest son of the late Wallace B. McGinnis, Sr. and Juanita Rowe. Butch departed this life on March 19, 2022 after battling that demon well known as cancer.   Butch lived most of his life in Baltimore, Maryland where he attended public schools. He was most proud to have attended Edmondson Westside High School. As a youngster, Butch attended Wilson Park Christian Community Church where he was baptized, sang on the choir and served on the usher board. He spent many years being a great boy scout even throughout his adult life. In 1986, Butch made the front page of the Baltimore Sun newspaper. He was playing hooky from school to attend the Italian Festival just so he could go crabbing. He did just about anything to be in the water.   In 1996, the city life became a bit much so Lil Butch packed his bags and hit the road relocating to High Point, North Carolina. Butch spent lots of time with his favorite auntie, the Late Leola Jones. Butch attended Guilford Technical Community College 2009-2011, where he studied to be an automotive technician. Butch found a new trade after many years of working in the Bindery Printing Industries in MD. (Art Litho, Victor Graphics, Binder Graphics and Barton and Cotton).   In 2012, Butch fell head over heels in love with Letitia Quarles who became his wife in 2014. Letitia just happened to be a Maryland native as well.   Butch favorite hobbies: Fishing, crabbing, working on cars, cooking, camping, farming, animals, listening to music, football (Cowboys fan). Butch was an all-around outdoorsman. Butch became a social media sensation demonstrating his many talents.   Butch loved his family. He enjoyed when the kids would come spend time with him, they hit the fishing docks and the amusement parks. He always wanted the front seat on the roller coasters daring others to join him.   Butch spent his last days making great memories with his family and friends. Butch wanted nothing more than to assure his granddaughters would always remember their Pop Pop. Butch was excited and looking forward to see his son get married this coming May.   Wallace Jr. was preceded in death by his father, the Late Wallace McGinnis, Sr. and two sisters, Bernalina and Shanee McGinnis. He leaves his great legacy of life memories to his mother, Juanita Rowe and dad, Herman Rowe, stepmother, Sylvia McGinnis; wife, Letitia McGinnis; two sons, Leamon McGinnis (Mia), Robert Quarles; two daughters, Keona and Dorisa Johnson; two precious granddaughters, Mila McGinnis and Aniya Paige; three brothers, Gary Gordon, Michael Conaway and Kevin McGinnis; four sisters, Aquanetta (Darrin) Anderson, Lavada Rowe, Denise (Troy) Robinson and Roslyn (Duane) Futrell; mother-in-law, Anna Quarles; two sisters-in-law, Prinsha Gordon and  Eraina Quarles; six nephews, Taiwan Hudgins, Juan McGinnis, Domminick Hall, Desmond Smith, Daniel Futrell and Gary Gordon, Jr.; five nieces, Jassima McGinnis, Lanay (Michael) Turner, Shacoya Stokes, Kelis Gordon and Madisyn Robinson; three great nephews, Peyton, Masiah, Charles; three great nieces, Malaysia, Ariana and Maliyah and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Butch will be greatly missed by his best friend and nephew, Taiwan.
