March 28, 1958 - July 30, 2020
Sheila Kapp was born Sheila Ann Willis on March 28th, 1958 in Junction City, Kansas to Edward and Blanche Willis. Being raised in a military family, Sheila turned to her active imagination and TV as a form of entertainment which would be a lifelong trait. She also honed her natural flair by joining creative writing and dramatic arts clubs while in grade school. Sheila was the last-born child to Blanche and Edward. She would always be known as the baby of the brood; a title she would relish for life. After relocating from Kansas to Germany, the family would eventually settle in Aberdeen, Maryland. Sheila would forever be a Harford County girl. She graduated with a degree in nursing from Harford Community College and would later continue her studies at the College of Notre Dame. She embarked in a lifelong career in psychiatric medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview. Being an RN was her passion. For 25 years she would share her caring nature with countless patients as well as developing deep and rewarding friendships with her coworkers. Amongst other awards, Sheila was especially proud for being awarded Nurse of the Year. Sheila would eventually settle in a charming house in Abingdon which she would fill with love and care for more than 20 years. She adored opening her home up for family events where she would get the opportunity to host her beloved family. It goes without saying that Sheila truly loved her family. She was always close to her brothers and sister as well as her many cousins, nieces and nephews. One of Sheila’s greatest joys came from mothering her son, Ian. They had a lifelong companionship which will stand eternal.
