Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Roane,

Mary Elizabeth Roane, beloved daughter of the late Lillian Ineze Taylor and Charles McNutt, was born on May 30, 1925 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the only child born to this union. Later her mother married the late George H. Taylor. She departed this life on Saturday May 23, 2020. Mary met and married Louis A. Roane. From this union six children were born: Marguerite Bessicks (Larry-Deceased), Lucretia Roane, James (Michael) Roane, Ronald Roane, Charles Roane, Debra Rice (Eric), one step son, Louis Roane, Mary attended schools in Baltimore City, graduating from Douglas High School in 1944. She later attended Cortez Peters Business School in 1945, St. Paul Institute of Nursing in 1948, and Baltimore College of Commerce in 1951. She worked in the Baltimore Public School System for nine years. She was employed by C&P Telephone Company for 25 years and retired in 1991. Mary enjoyed bowling, watching TV, playing Pinochle, and going to casinos (Ching! Ching!) Children always found a safe haven and love with Mary. She always held out a helping hand to everyone. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Marguerite Bessicks, Lucretia Roane, Ronald Roane, Debra Rice, one step son, Louis Roane, Jr.; grandchildren: Chantel, Sheritta, Toya, La-Kisha, Ronald, Dallas, Rondashia, and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
