Lillie Mae Hazel, better known to all of us as Doss”, was born on January 27, 1927 to the late Cecilia and Pete Hazel. She departed this life on Friday, November 20, 2020 after a brief illness. She received her education in Edgemere, Maryland Public School System. She was a member of Pleasant Zion Baptist Church for over 40 years. She attended Today’s Care & Family Day Program for over 25 years. Little Mae never missed a day. She is proceeded in death by her only sister, Cora Ann Powell “Momma” three brothers; Robert, John, and Manny Hazel, her son; Robert Hazel “Poppie”, and daughter, Cecelia Brook “Patty”. She was a devoted mother and sister. She leaves to mourn a very special and devoted niece; Amanda Pope, her only granddaughter, Samantha Muse who was her pride and joy and two great grandchildren; TJ and Aubrey. She leaves behind her bonus family: Mrs. Sarah Williams (family and staff) and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. To know her was to love her. Little Mae loved to play BINGO, go for rides in the car, and her visits to the hair salon. You never saw her without her coffee cup. She was locked around her granddaughter Lady’s finger. We send special appreciation and gratitude to Today’s Care and Family Day Program, which was her second home. Little Mae “Doss” will truly be missed.
