November 11, 1968 - September 6, 2021
Laura Michelle Brown, affectionally known as “Baby Girl” or “Little One”, by her loving siblings. Born November 11th, 1968 from the union of Preston Hancock and Lucy Ferrell-Brown; both parents whom proceeded into eternal life later in Laura’s life. God in his infinite wisdom reclaimed his child “Laura” on September 6th, 2021, as he saw his child was ready to rejoin him in the eternal kingdom. As a child Laura was raised in a God fearing household and was taught “God comes first in everything that you do”. She’d attended Ray of Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Charles M. Franklin Sr. Laura would attended church services, bible study and Sunday school with her beloved mother and siblings. As the Ray of Hope Baptist Church became the home where Laura knew our lord and savior, she was first Baptist there in 1976 and than later in her adult life in 1992. Further, into her religious belief Laura began to practice the Muslim beliefs of Allah. Laura was also, an educated child of God. As she gained her education through the Baltimore City Public School System. She obtained her G.E.D through the Rising Stars (a program/ learning center for single mothers/parents). Laura was viewed as a kind, gentle, loving and social person. Her persona was very one of a kind and distinct. She would always express to her loved ones “how she was doing” or “matters of her disliking” as she didn’t have a problem speaking her mind nor voicing her opinions. As she would remind everyone “you know I’m a Scorpio” along with her reminding everyone about her birthday, no matter what time of year it would be. The most joyful times or times that Laura expressed she was having a good time, was when she was with family. As she adored all five of her kids, all eleven of her siblings and nine grandkids. Even though, Laura marched to the beat of her own drum, she enjoyed life as a whole and spending memorable moments with family. As Laura had a remarkable smile and dimples , unique laugh everyone knew when she was present. Laura is now with our lord and savior, and we are so grateful that he came to comforter her. We all know that she is in a better place where there isn’t anymore pain, operations, medicines or suffering, as it Is said to be absent from the body it is to be present with the lord. Laura leaves to cherish three daughters Darnisha Brown, Monika Truesdale & Chanel Lee, two sons Devon Miles & Rodney Harris Jr. Sisters Gracie Ferrell-Nedd (deceased), Lean Brown, Brenda Jene Wilkins (deceased), Beverly Brown-Tate, Donna Brown-Seward & Geni Hancock (deceased); brothers Jimmy Brown (deceased), James “Butch” Brown (deceased), Jimmy Hancock (deceased), Ollie Lemon Jr., Damon Hancock, Sean Purnell & Michael Hancock.
