Mrs. Laura Virginia Bland

On October 9, 1931, Laura Virginia Coleman Bland was born to Lacy A. Coleman and Annie H. Coleman in Nottaway County, Virginia. She was educated in the Nottaway Public School System. She joined the Mt. Nebo Baptist Church at an early age. She still considers Cellar Creek Baptist Church her family church. She moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1949. Laura met Robert Bland and they were united in marriage on December 17, 1966. She was a loving mother of one daughter, Theresa. Laura joined the Charity Community Church of God in October 1977. She has served as a Missionary and was ordained in 1988. She also served as a Deacon and was ordained in 1998. Deacon Bland was a member of the Senior Ministry, singing as a part of the choir, and the Intercessory Prayer Ministry. Laura's faith in God, her strength, love, perseverance, and patience during her lifetime was an inspiration to her family, friends, and all who came in contact with her. Her life exemplified true ministry; selflessness, and servant hood. Her love for God, family, and people all combined to form a legacy that will continue to touch lives for many years to come. Laura V. Bland preceding in death her husband Robert Bland; two sisters Shireley Outlaw and Estelle Harrison; two brothers Franklin Coleman and Lacey Coleman. Laura leaves to cherish her loving memory: her daughter Theresa Howard; step-daughter Gloria Tyson; 6 grands Mona, Tammy, Zachary, Anthony, Ty and Lakisha; 8 great grands Kiarra, Charles, Asheley, Travon, Anthony, Jerrel, Ahmad and Lorne; 8 great great grands; two sisters-in-law Winnie Coleman and Lillian Coleman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
