James McArthur Pulliam, 78, son of the late Raymond and Annie Pulliam passed peacefully to glory from home on Sunday, June 28, 2020 after a lengthy illness. James family moved to Baltimore, Maryland from Burlington, NC in 1956. Here James attended Baltimore Public Schools. James had no other choice but to give his life to Christ at an early age because he had a Christian mother, Annie Pulliam. After venturing out he met and married the love of his life, his soulmate (Grace Phillips) and in 1961 they became one. From that union, they had 8 children, 6 boys and 2 girls. James was employed at the Women’s Hospital as a custodian, the Baltimore City Department of Education, Den and Sleep shop and drove trucks until retirement. James also had many hobbies such as baking pies, bread pudding and a secret recipe for grape Kool-Aide. In his leisure time, he enjoyed watching Family Feud, football and cops. James preceded by death his mother and father, Raymond and Annie Pulliam, sister, Dorothy Davenport and grandson, Dariel (Puggie) Pulliam. He leaves to celebrate, his wife, (Gracie Pulliam) sons, Kevin, Dariel, Eric, Keith, Frank and Emmett, daughters, Phyllis and Brittany, siblings Vernel Pulliam (Barbara), Burnice Pulliam (Paulette), Burlington, NC, Thomas Pulliam (Gracie) Minister Donna Robinson (Anthony). Reidsville, NC, and a special cousin, Nancy Thompson. He was known affectionately as Pop Pop by his 13 grandchildren, Joseph, Dariel, Nicole, Danielle, DaShawna, Briana, Tatayana, Jiselle, Josiah, Rhonda, Tyshaun, Cameron, and Dante; great grandchildren, Kyree, Kyaira, Kacey, Gregory, Brieon, Ivan, Olivia, and Noelle. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
