Geraldine Phillips the daughter of the late Charlie and Sophia Cook was the last of 6 born on May 2, 1934. Geraldine spent most of her childhood on Tisha Street, where she attended Baltimore city public schools then went on to make a career at social security where she retired. Her mother was a faithful member of Perkins Square Baptist Church, and this is where the start of her spiritual journey began. Geraldine also became a devoted member of Perkins Square. Gaining a sister in Christ Clarice Thomas whom she adored. And later in year still conversed through beautiful cards. While on this spiritual journey Geraldine discovered her love for servicing others within fellowshipping through her congregation. May it be through visiting the sick and shut in, weekly bible studies, church events and even making her famous 7up or dump cake for all to enjoy. Geraldine became a devoted mother and wife. Her only child David Smith and her loving husband Leroy Phillips were the apple of her eye. Geraldine (Kitty as he called her) and Leroy spent a lifetime together 66 years to be exact. Through this committed and dedicated union, they raised a loving son who went on to become a father and musician. Leroy and Geraldine spent many years building the home that eventually became a house of memories for all. Geraldine loved her neighborhood and all her neighbors. Leroy and Geraldine are one of the very few original homeowners. They loved to travel she said, “I been to Brazil twice” and the cruise trip with the family was the one she held on to the most. Family was everything to her and she treated people how she wanted to be treated. Geraldine proceeded in death brothers Charles Welding Cook (Bo) and Paul. Sister to Eunice Holloway (Dolly), Ruth and Gertrude. She leaves to mourn Her Husband: Leroy Phillips, Son: David Smith, Grand-Children: Nicole, Angel, David, and Kazuko, 12 Great Grandchildren: William, D’Andre, Deshane, Dion, Monique, Chasity, Marcia, Lamont, Nichole, Marcell, Shammah, Baby David. Great Great Grands: William 4th, Ryan, Nicholas, Sophia, Noah, Prince, Noble. To all her nieces, nephews and cousins Aunt Geraldine loves you all from the bottom to the top of her heart. The Iconic Geraldine Phillips has transitioned leaving a beautiful legacy of Love, Tradition and Inspiration to carry on. We love you, Geraldine Phillips.
