Ella Sparrow was born on April 25, 1932 to the late George and Carrie Edmonds in Baltimore MD. She is the second of six children. She departed this life on December 7, 2020 after long illness. She received her education in the Baltimore City School system. Ella received the most highest degree possible in life, her B.A.(Born Again Degree) when she accepted the Lord as her personal savior in the early 1970's. After working early in life she decided her calling was to be a wife and mother. Ella was united in marriage to Roland Sparrow for many years until his death in November 2002. Ella was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She loved her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed getting all her family members together when possible especially on holidays. Some of her favorite things were cooking, shopping and listening to informative radio talk shows to keep her and her family informed. Most of all she loved attending church and also being in the presence of her church family. She joined Pilgrim's Way Bible Baptist Church in 1999 under the leadership of Pastor Raymond Thornton and First Lady Joyce Thornton whom she loved and appreciated. She served on the Usher Board for many years until her health no longer allowed her. She is preceded in death by husband Roland Sparrow parents George and Carrie Edmonds, two brothers George Edmonds Jr. and Alfred Edmonds, two sisters Shirley Sharpton and Helen Tyler and one son in law Ronald Sherman and Annie Moss a very special friend and sister in Christ. She leaves here for her memory to be cherished by her six children Ella (Bernadette), Yvonne, Sheila, Joanne, Mae and Ronald. One loving and caring sister Yvonne Jung. Eight grandchildren, 19 great grand children and 6 great great grand children, 4 son in laws and a host of family and friends. This Includes a special dear friend and sister in Christ, Virginia Peguese who faithfully brought her home from church every Sunday and looked out for her and treated her with so much kindness, love and respect. Thank You Sister Virginia, Ella loved you much. Also a special thank you to her grandson Winfred Cox who faithfully picked her up and took her to church every Sunday until she could not attend. We thank you. Ella wants us to celebrate her life and homegoing.
