Angela Shanae Carrington was born to Austin Ervin & Elaine Carrington on March 25, 1962, in Baltimore, Maryland. Angela went home to be with Jesus on June 13, 2021 after battling lengthy an illness. Angela Carrington was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System. She graduated with honors from Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in 1980. After high school Angie continued to further her education. She knew she loved children early on and had a desire to work with them so she pursued her certification in Early Childhood Education and excelled in it. After completing the certification, she opened her own family daycare and was very successful at it. She operated it for over 10 years. Any family that entrusted her to care for their children loved her. As life would have it she closed her family daycare and begin working at various childcare centers. In 2010, she joined the Tooney Town Early Learning Center and was a dedicated, loving teacher, and a loyal employee. She will truly be missed at all the annual functions by all the teaches and families. Angie met the love of her life, Carl Porter in 1988. They fell in love and married August 28, 1999 and from that union a combined family, with four children was formed and raised with love. Angie had a special bond with all of her children and each one felt as if they were her favorite. Tasia and mommy shared the same love for children and always looked for ways to enrich and make their lives better. Deven and mommy had their own special ways they shared many quiet moments together. He would tell her his secrets that would stay between just them. Brittany, her baby girl, had such special moments with her. They shared cooking, secrets, and just enjoying each other company. Derrick, her baby boy, loved to rub his mother feet and she enjoyed it as well. Angie was a loving and caring grandmother to her “grand boos” as she affectionally call them. She was fondly known as” Ya-Ya” to her grandkids and they loved her dearly. She wanted the best for her grandchildren and would go out of her way to make sure that they had the very best. Angie was an excellent cook. She loved her family and was big on spending time with them. She loved Sunday dinners, holidays, and karaoke night. Her family often gathered to watch her favorite TV show “Family Feud”. It was always a good time. Angie was a caring mother, doting grandmother, & devoted friend, and so much more. She will be sorely missed. Angie was preceded in death her by loving husband of 23 years, Carl Porter, and her daughter, Tasia Henley. Angie leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted mother, Elaine; three children: Deven, Brittany (Reggie), Derek; six grandchildren: Amari, Reginae, ReAsia, Haize, Aubre, & Khai:two uncles: Clinton and Claude (Shirley): niece Esther, one goddaughter Dania, a few special friends: Genevieve & Miyah, her Tooney Town Family, and a host of other relatives, friends, and love ones.
